Testing, testing, before I start tomorrow
My Advent blog for this year will start tomorrow on Wednesday 29th November. But I haven’t posted a blog for 19 months, so this serves as something of a test to check I can still remember how to do it and should mean that anyone now pressing the “Latest Post” button will no longer be taken back to April 2022.
I was first encouraged to try my hand at a short “thought for the day” back in Advent 2018. Then the medium was text and WhatsApp, which was hard going, especially for the readers. Nevertheless, people responded more positively than politeness strictly demanded, or so I reckoned, and I felt encouraged enough to issue an updated version via this blog in 2019, which I posted again in 2020 with further tweaking. For those who followed one of the earlier versions, I hope the passage of time, changes in response to constructive criticism (I do try to listen!) and some additional meandering in pursuit of “something curious” will combine to keep it sufficiently engaging. For first-timers, I hope that you will find it a decent investment of the perhaps three minutes a day it takes to read … at least often enough to make it worthwhile.
Till tomorrow!
